Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)
The Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) is the CBP's electronic system through which the international trade community reports imports and exports to and from the U.S. and the government determines admissibility.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a memo entitled, "Amendment to Certificate of Eligibility Requirements for North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Tariff Preference Level (TPL) Claims," which provides updates to the 2003 CBP directive on NAFTA claims (No. 3550-085).
On July 14, 2008, the House of Representatives passed H. U.S. Customs and Border Protection has temporarily removed the Entry Summary Query chapter of the ACE ABI CATAIR1 from its Web site.
CBP has issued a news release announcing that it will partner with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), along with other agencies, at the new National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Coordination Center in Arlington, VA.
U.S. Customs and Broker Protection has posted two new Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) ABI CATAIR documents to its Web site: (i) ACE Entry Summary Examples and (ii) Selected EDI "Entry Summary Create/Update" Filing and Response Scenarios.
CBP has issued the June 2008 ACE Trade Account Owner monthly update as an attachment to an ACE Portal Accounts CSMS message. The update covers the following topics: the introduction of ACE "ad hoc" reporting capabilities, new contact information for the technology support center, ACE Account Revenue report enhancements, the posting of the "draft" M1 version of the CAMIR (Amendment 11) and X12 transaction sets, and new features that will be available in ACE with the deployment of ACE A2.1/M1 Ocean and Rail e-Manifest. U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a CSMS message informing filers that they may now use Remote Location Filing and Electronic Interface Program to enter goods subject to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Declaration Form 3520-1 (Importation of Motor Vehicles and Motor Vehicle Engines Subject to Federal Air Pollution Regulations) or Engine Declaration Form 3520-21 (Importation of Engines, Vehicles, and Equipment Subject to Federal Air Pollution Regulations) documentation.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a General Notice announcing a change to the portal activity portion of the Terms and Conditions that must be followed for access to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Secure Data Portal (ACE Portal).
