Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)
The Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) is the CBP's electronic system through which the international trade community reports imports and exports to and from the U.S. and the government determines admissibility.
CBP has issued its weekly tariff rate quota and tariff preference level commodity report as of June 25, 2007. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, tuna, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa powder, tobacco, certain BFTA, CAFTA-DR, JFTA, MFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs, etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, CAFTA-DR, CBTPA, MFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA (Chile FTA) TPLs and TRQs for qualifying apparel and/or other textile articles, the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc. (CBP's weekly TRQ/TPL commodity report, dated 06/25/07, available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/import/textiles_and_quotas/commodity/)
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted to its Web site an updated "draft" deployment schedule for equipping land border ports with Automated Commercial Environment e-Manifest: Truck capabilities.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted to its Web site an updated version of its document entitled "ACE Workplan Schedule" which provides a list of the changes and/or fixes to the Automated Commercial Environment that have been scheduled for deployment from June 28, 2007 through December 15, 2007. CBP has previously stated that this list contains only those changes and/or fixes that impact the trade community.
At the Automated Commercial Environment Exchange V conference held June 4-6, 2007 in Buffalo, NY, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials discussed the deployment of ACE Entry Summary, Accounts, and Revenue Release A2, which is currently scheduled for Fall 2008, but may be delayed.
CBP recently issued an ABI administrative message stating that the Food and Drug Administration had increased its surveillance of toothpaste, and reminding filers of the correct FDA product codes for toothpaste, as queries of the import data transmitted by filers showed many product code errors.
In February 2007, U.S. Customs and Border Protection posted to its Web site a notice announcing the phased enforcement of mandatory Automated Commercial Environment electronic manifest: Truck for advance cargo information purposes at all land border ports in California, New Mexico, and Texas beginning April 19, 2007.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued an ABI administrative message notifying Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal users about upcoming changes that they must make to their Internet Explorer web browser settings in order to continue to access the ACE portal.
