Next Status Report on Chinese Exporter’s Request to Be Removed From UFLPA Due June 3

A status report on Chinese steel exporter Ninestar’s request to be taken off the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List (see 2404150051) is due on June 3, Court of International Trade Judge Gary Katzmann said in a May 8 scheduling order. Briefing on the exporter’s motion for judgment will remain stayed until further court order (Ninestar Corp. v. U.S., CIT # 23-00182).

The U.S. may also file a sur-reply brief by May 13 in response to Ninestar’s reply, he said.

Finally, Katzmann said that consultations between the parties on Ninestar’s motion to amend its second protective order must conclude on May 17, by which time they must file a joint motion. If they cannot agree for a joint motion, each side can file their own motion, he said.
