EU Updates Report on China's State Economy Distortions for AD Proceedings

The European Commission on April 10 released an updated report on "significant state-induced distortions" in China's economy, the Directorate-General for Trade announced. The report will allow EU industry to "use the most up-to-date information on the Chinese economy and on specific circumstances of the market" when filing antidumping petitions.

The report included three main findings centering on cross-cutting distortions, including the role of state-owned enterprises and state allocution of resources; factors of production distortions, including "discriminatory allocation and access to resources, such as land, labour, raw materials, and energy"; and distortions in various sectors, including "preferential access to finance" across various sectors.

The Directorate-General said the report doesn't automatically lead to any given dumping finding or calculation method.
