Commerce Seeks Comments on Improving Aluminum Import Monitoring System

The Commerce Department seeks comments on potential improvements or changes to its Aluminum Import Monitoring system, it said in a notice released Jan. 27. Through the system, fully implemented since June 2022 (see 2204270045), Commerce maintains an import license program that requires importers or brokers to apply for a license for each entry of covered aluminum products. Comments are due March 1.
