Exhibitors Preview Product Showcases Set for Next Week's CEDIA Expo

Energy management products, luxury loudspeakers, connected devices and dealer tools are among the products exhibitors will showcase next week at CEDIA Expo, Sept. 29-Oct. 1 in Dallas.

Savant Systems will show its expanded Power System, engineered for “price scalability” and the ability to deliver the benefits of smart power “to every home.” The power modules, starting at $60 per circuit, mount in Eaton CH and Schneider Square D electrical panels; compatibility is expected later this year with Eaton BR, Schneider Homeline, Siemens and ABB GE Powermark Gold panels, Savant said.

Savant Power Systems, which deliver power management and monitoring, are designed to report “revenue grade” energy consumption of +/-.5%, so homeowners can monitor real-time and historical usage down to the circuit level, the company said. They also measure total incoming power to the home, giving visibility by source: solar, grid, battery and generator. The company plans a module for delivery early next year that will allow on-device or mobile app onboarding and configuration with communication to the rest of the system via Bluetooth, it said.

Harman’s Luxury Audio Group will spotlight JBL Synthesis architectural speakers and electronics, JBL Stage 2 and Studio 6 architectural speakers, Arcam AV receivers and processors, and all-weather JBL Stage XD Series all-weather speakers, the company said Thursday. Harman will also run JBL Synthesis theater demos. The company will display the JBL 4305P active loudspeaker system, comprising a primary and secondary speaker, integrated streaming engine and 24-bit/192kHz digital-to-analog converter.

The Z-Wave Alliance booth will feature new products showing interoperability and compatibility from member companies, including a Matter solution. Alfred will showcase a wireless charging accessory kit from Wi-Charge that allows a smart lock to be charged and powered from up to 30 feet away, the alliance said. Assa Abloy will show Yale connected door locks (see report, this issue), and Silicon Labs will demonstrate its Z-Wave-to-Matter bridge tech. Zooz will highlight a Z-Wave smart home hub, and Masonite plans to demonstrate the first residential exterior doors to integrate power, lights, a video doorbell and a smart lock, the alliance said.

The Z-Wave Alliance will also host a “smart home playground” discussion on technologies, standards and initiatives surrounding the connected home, it said. The panel will be Sept. 30 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. CDT in Room D 174 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, said the trade group. Panelists will represent the Alliance, Silicon Labs, Google, Assa Abloy, Building36 and the Connectivity Standards Alliance.

Platinum Tools will show its $145 Digital Tone and Probe Kit, which allows installers to locate and trace single cables or cable bundles connected to unpowered or active networks such as phone lines, network cables or coax cables. Built-in test functions can verify termination of network cables and test for short circuits, the company said.
