Inteliquent Deal Poses ‘Public Interest Harm': CarrierX
CarrierX asked the FCC Wireline Bureau staff to evaluate the "public interest harms" of Inteliquent and Sinch's transfer of control request, said an ex parte letter posted Monday in docket 21-131. CarrierX said the proposed transaction poses “continuing and potentially escalating harm to competition,” citing Inteliquent’s recent waiver requests of access stimulation rules (see 2103230060). Inteliquent’s actions “demonstrate that the company today and in combination with Sinch will compound the public interest harms associated with its access stimulation activities,” CarrierX said. An attorney for Inteliquent didn’t comment.
