USTR Grants New Extensions to Section 301 Exclusions, Leaves Others to Expire June 4

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative will grant extensions to 16 exclusions from the first list of Section 301 tariffs on China that were due to expire June 4, it said in a pre-publication copy of a notice posted to its website. The exclusions that weren't extended will expire June 4.

USTR in March asked for comments on whether it should extend the exclusions (see 2003180004). The exclusions in question were issued in June last year (see 1906030038). The extended exclusions will be included in a new subheading, 9903.88.50. The remaining 72 exclusions are set to expire June 4.

USTR says the following extensions will now remain in effect for entries on or after July 6, 2018, when the first list of Section 301 tariffs took effect, through Dec. 31, 2020:
