Canadian Government Notices as of April 5
The government of Canada recently issued the following trade-related notices as of April 5 (note that some may also be given separate headlines):
- CBSA Statement of Reasons on certain nitisinone capsules from Sweden. The Canada Border Services Agency on April 4 issued its Statement of Reasons for its final determination respecting the dumping of certain nitisinone capsules originating in or exported from Sweden.
- CBSA initiates re-investigation of certain carbon steel fasteners. The Canada Border Services Agency on April 3 initiated a re-investigation to update the normal values and export prices, in accordance with the Special Import Measures Act, with respect to certain carbon steel fasteners originating in or exported from China and Taiwan, and the amounts of subsidy with respect to certain carbon steel fasteners originating in or exported from China. The re-investigation should conclude by Nov. 14, 2019.
- NAFTA textile/apparel TPL utilization. The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade updated the 2019 NAFTA textile and apparel tariff preference level utilization rate for imports and exports.
- Product Recalls: Mastercraft, Profusion Heat, Prestige, and Matrix portable garage heaters manufactured in China are recalled due to fire hazard; Matco Tools wireless chargers manufactured in China are recalled due to burn hazard.
