CBP Shuffles COAC Structure

The structure of the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC) will be updated in order to mirror CBP's mission and to allow for quicker reaction to events, said Bradley Hayes, CBP executive director of trade relations, during the Oct. 3 COAC meeting. The number of subcommittees will go from six to four for this COAC term, he said. The four subcommittees and underlying work groups are:

Secure Trade Lanes Subcommittee:

• Petroleum Pipeline Work Group
• In-bond Work Group
• CTPAT-Minimum Security Criteria Work Group
• Trusted Trader Work Group

Intelligent Enforcement Subcommittee:

• Antidumping/Countervailing Duty Work Group
• Bond Work Group
• Forced Labor Work Group
• Intellectual Property Rights Work Group

Next Generation Facilitation Subcommittee:

• E-Commerce Work Group
• Emerging Technologies Work Group
• Regulatory Reform Work Group
• FTZ-Regulatory Reform Work Group

Rapid Response Subcommittee:

• On call work groups
• Special Projects.
