Trade-Related Court Cases Filed for Week of Oct. 16-22
The following lawsuits were filed at the Court of International Trade during the week of Oct. 16-22:
Lock & Lock Co. Ltd., challenging CBP's denial of its protests seeking to correct the valuation of goods on entries for which it filed post-entry amendments, and seeking to compel CBP to rule on other protests and requests for further review of protests. #17-00252. Filed Oct. 16.
Composite Technology International, on the classification of painted LVL wood stiles, rails and blocks. CBP classified the merchandise in subheading 4421.90.9760 (3.3%) and 4421.90.9780 (3.3%). Composite says they should be classified in subheading 4412.99.5100 (free) or 4412.99.9500 (free). #17-00253. Filed Oct. 18.
BASF Corporation, on the classification of lycvoit 10%. CBP classified the merchandise in subheading 2106.90.9700 (28.8¢/kg+8.5%) or 2106.90.9500 (10%). BASF says they should be classified in subheading 3204.19.3500 (3.1%), 3003.90.0100 (free) or 2106.90.95/9902.24.41 (free). #17-00254. Filed Oct. 20.
