Trade-Related Court Cases Filed for Week of Feb. 20-26
The following lawsuits were filed at the Court of International Trade during the week of Feb. 20-26:
MerchSource, on the classification of toy laptop and tablet computers. CBP classified the merchandise under subheading 8543.70.96 (2.6%). MerchSource says it should have instead been classified under subheading 9503.00.00 (free). #17-034. Filed Feb. 21.
American Furniture Manufacturers Committee for Legal Trade and Vaughan Bassett Furniture Company, challenging the final results of the Commerce Department's antidumping duty administrative review on wooden bedroom furniture from China, covering entries in 2015. In particular, they challenge Commerce's decision not to look into claims that an importer was evading duties by intentionally listing the wrong exporter-specific case number. #17-035. Filed Feb. 21.
OMG, challenging a recent Commerce scope ruling that found its zinc anchors subject to antidumping and countervailing duties on steel nails from Vietnam (see 1702220043). #17-036. Filed Feb. 21.
