The following lawsuits were filed at the Court of International Trade during the week of Dec. 25 - Jan. 1:

Meyer Corp., challenging the denial of first sale treatment and Generalized System of Preferences treatment on entries of cookware. #16-00271. Filed Dec. 27.

Tristar Food Wholesale, challenging CBP's notice to redeliver its entry of dried jujube. Tristar says the notice was improperly issued. #16-00272. Filed Dec. 28.

U.S. government, seeking $405,042.90 in penalties from Harvic International. The government alleges Harvic transshipped apparel and misrepresented its country of origin on entry documentation to avoid a quota on certain apparel from China. #16-00273. Filed Dec. 28.

Thyssenkrupp Steel North America, challenging CBP's allegedly improper assessment of AD duties after the AD duty order on corrosion-resistant steel products from Germany had been revoked. #16-00274. Filed Dec. 28.

Quiedan Company, challenging a recent unpublished Commerce Department scope ruling that its training stakes are subject to antidumping duties on steel concrete reinforcing bars from China. #16-00275. Filed Dec. 30.

The following appeals of Court of International Trade decisions were filed at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit during the week of Dec. 26 - Jan. 1:

Thyssenkrupp Steel North America, appealing a CIT decision issued in October that found the importer could not claim refunds for AD duties assessed on entries liquidated after the effective date of revocation of the relevant AD duty order (see 1610250042).
