Trade-Related Court Cases Filed for Week of Aug. 22-28

The following lawsuits were filed at the Court of International Trade during the week of Aug. 22-28:

Pasha Stevedoring and Terminals, challenging CBP's refusal to allow or deny its protest on the classification of merchandise it imported. The filer put the wrong importer of record number on the original entry, and now CBP won't accept Pasha's protest because its IOR number doesn't match, Pasha said. #16-00160. Filed Aug. 22.

Hyundai Steel Company, challenging the Commerce Department's final determination in the antidumping duty investigation on corrosion resistant steel products from South Korea. #16-00161. Filed Aug. 23.

Magid Glove & Safety Manufacturing, on the classification of knit fabric gloves covered in polyurethane. CBP classified the merchandise under subheading 6116.10.5520 (13.2%). Magid says it should have instead been classified under subheading 3926.20.1050 (free). #16-00166. Filed Aug. 24.

Hartford Fire Insurance, challenging CBP claims on bonds covering entries of garlic. Hartford says the claims should be canceled because CBP didn't timely respond to Hartford's Freedom of Information Act requests. #16-00169. Filed Aug. 26.
