The following lawsuits were filed at the Court of International Trade during the week of Jan. 18-24:
Shin-Etsu MicroSi on the classification of silicone-based thermal greases. CBP classified the merchandise under subheading 3824.90.2800 (6.5%). Shin-Etsu says it should have instead been classified under subheading 3910.00.0000 (3%). #16-00015. Filed Jan. 19.
New Image Global challenging CBP's calculation of the weight of its imported cigar wraps and the excise tax charged. #16-00016. Filed Jan. 21.
Logitech on the classification of digital video cameras. CBP classified the merchandise under subheading 8525.80.3010 (2.1%). Logitech says it should have instead been classified under subheading 8525.80.40 (free) or 8517.62.00 (free). #16-00017. Filed Jan. 22.
Whites Manufacturing on the classification of fusion dry suits. CBP classified the merchandise under subheading 6110.00.9065 or 6110.00.9070 (7.1%). Whites says it should have instead been classified under subheading 6210.40.50 or 6210.50.50 and eligible for NAFTA duty free treatment. #16-00018. Filed Jan. 22.
ADC Telecommunications on the classification of value-added modules, including wavelength division multiplexers, passive optical splitter modules and monitor modules. CBP classified the merchandise under subheading 9013.80.9000 (4.5%). ADC says it should have instead been classified under subheading 8517.62.0050 (free). #16-00019. Filed Jan. 24.
