Canadian Government Notices for Nov. 4
The government of Canada recently issued the following trade-related notices for Nov. 4 (note that some may also be given separate headlines):
- Unserviceable Vehicle Parts for Remanufacturing. The CBSA has issued Memorandum D10-14-40 which outlines and explains the Canada Border Services Agency policy as it relates to the term “vehicles” contained in the provisions of tariff item 9965.00.00.00.
- Tariff Classification of Kit Cars. The CBSA has issued Memorandum D10-14-45 which outlines the Canada Border Services Agency policy as it relates to the tariff classification of kit cars under the customs tariff. (here)
- Licensing of Customs Brokers. The CBSA has issued Memorandum D1-8-1 which details the procedures to be followed by an individual, partnership, or corporation applying for a customs broker license and the conditions under which licensed customs brokers have to operate.
- Copyright and Trade-marks. The CBSA has issued Memorandum D19-4-3 which outlines and explains the legislation governing the role of the CBSA in dealing with counterfeit trademark goods or pirated copyright goods. (here)
- NAFTA textile/apparel TPL utilization. DFAIT updated the 2015 NAFTA textile and apparel tariff preference level utilization rate for imports (here) and exports. (here)
- Product Recalls. Alpine Electronics of America Inc. recalls various models of Alpine PDR audio amplifiers manufactured in China (here)
