Trade-Related Court Cases Filed for Week of Aug. 24-30
The following lawsuits were filed at the Court of International Trade during the week of Aug 24-30:
Lights & More challenging CBP's assessment of antidumping duties on its imported furniture that should not be subject to AD duties on wooden bedroom furniture from China. #15-00239. Filed Aug. 24.
Amcor Flexibles (formerly Alcan Packaging) on the classification of aluminum foil packaging material. CBP classified the merchandise under subheadings 3921.90.4090 (4.2%) and 7607.19.6000 (3%). Amcor says it should have instead been classified under subheading 7607.20.5000 (free). #15-00240-46. Filed Aug. 26.
Extreme Linen on the classification of bedding assortments in PVC storage bags. CBP classified the merchandise as a set put for retail sale under subheading 9404.90.85 (12.8%) (see 1508250025). Extreme Linen says each item should be classified separately under various subheadings in chapters 39, 63 and 94 with duty rates ranging from 3.4% to 12.8%. #15-00247-48. Filed Aug. 28.

LG Electronics challenging a June 12 CIT decision sustaining the final determination in the antidumping duty investigation on large residential washers from South Korea. #15-1948. Filed Aug. 24.
