Samsung Announces $399 and $599 UHD Monitors Optimized for Gaming
Samsung will begin selling 24-inch ($399) and 28-inch ($599) Ultra HD monitors with AMD FreeSync technology July 26, it said in a Monday news release. FreeSync is said to provide smoother video, especially for gaming, by synchronizing monitors' refresh rates to eliminate large jumps in frame time. Gamers using the monitor will experience better responsiveness along with the elimination of screen tearing and stuttering, said Samsung. Samsung's Game Mode engages a rapid response to changing colors and brightness, allowing users to see more vivid images in darker scenes, the company said. Other features include picture-in-picture, including the ability to connect two PCs to the same monitor, and HDMI and DisplayPort connectors.
