CBP Continues Work to Fix ACE Air Manifest Issues
A set of recent fixes for the air manifest processing in the Automated Commercial Environment has resolved a number of problems recently reported by users, said a CBP spokeswoman in an email. "The fixes put in place through June 20th have eliminated the known performance issues," she said. "CBP will continue to monitor system performance to validate that all fixes and issues have been identified and rectified." The agency recently provided an update to industry members (see 1506220016).
CBP is also "continuing to track a number of software issues based on input from our trade users," she said. "Field personnel are working to leverage a combination of legacy systems and paper documentation to ensure freight processing is completed. Likewise, CBP continues to host multiple daily calls with the air community to discuss fixes, bugs and outage schedules. As soon as bugs are fixed and code developed it is being rolled out. Larger fixes that require significant downtime are being held until weekends, with the next significant drop potentially taking place June 27." The agency still "remains committed" to the Nov. 1 deadline for required use of ACE for electronic summaries and entries and "will continue to monitor readiness for the transition," she said.
