$399 Seiki 55-Inch TV, 1-Cent Samsung S4 Smartphone Make Noise as Black Friday Doorbusters
Black Friday deals continued to trickle out Thursday with the Thanksgiving weekend now two weeks away. H.h. gregg unveiled its doorbuster deals that begin at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving and also include “mystery doorbusters” that will be unleashed at 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Nov. 29. The mystery doorbusters are “planned to be in-store only,” a company spokeswoman told us. But mystery deals will be posted on the h.h. gregg website two hours before each sale begins, according to the site.
After opening Thanksgiving night, h.h. gregg stores will remain open until 10 p.m. Black Friday night. The roughly 20 CE doorbusters for the first round of doorbusters at 8 p.m. include an LG 60-inch TV ($599), a 55-inch Seiki TV ($399 after $100 mail-in rebate), a Curtis $49 Android tablet, a Samsung soundbar/subwoofer ($169), a Canon 18 megapixel DSLR with 18-55 mm lens ($549) and a 16 GB iPad Mini ($249 after $50 mail-in rebate).
As extra incentive for customers to shop Nov. 28-29, h.h. gregg is holding a “Black Friday on Us” promotion, in which one entrant in each of its 228 stores, along with one online winner, will receive their entire Black Friday purchase for free. Winners won’t be announced until after the Black Friday weekend. Entry dates are Nov. 17-29 via Facebook or the h.h. gregg website, and beginning Nov. 28 shoppers can sign up for the promotion through h.h. gregg’s Endless Blitz mobile game, available for iOS, Kindle and Android mobile devices. Winners will be announced Dec. 2-6, according to contest rules.
Staples announced a Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone for a penny with two-year activation or a two-year “qualified upgrade,” in its Black Friday circular posted Thursday. The phone won’t be available in all stores, supplies are limited and customers are limited to one phone per transaction, according to the ad. Staples will be open 8 p.m.-12 a.m. Thanksgiving and will reopen at 6 a.m. Friday. Additional CE deals, “while supplies last,” include a Toshiba 15-inch laptop with AMD processor for $249, a 14-inch HP Chromebook for $179 and a Kindle Fire for $79, the ad said. Staples will also sell an 8 MB Kindle Fire HD for $139. Amazon on Thursday was bundling Kindle Fire HD tablets with $15 Amazon gift cards at prices starting at $139 for the 8 MB version.
Drugstore chain CVS released its Black Friday circular, showing a G-Sonic 32-inch soundbar for $28.88 and a set of pink over-ear headphones promoted as buy-one-get-one-free. Neither the headphone brand nor price was legible on multiple scans that we viewed.
