Details of BIS Editorial and Typographical Changes to EAR

The Bureau of Industry and Security issued a final rule Feb. 27 on editorial corrections to the EAR. The rule says the corrections do not affect license requirements. They also do not affect the Commerce Control List. It amends the EAR to update all reference to the BIS mailing address. A complete list of all additional changes made to specific parts of the EAR is below:

Part 730: General Information	Restates a title in Supplement No. 1 to remove grammatical errors Updates Supplement No. 3 with correct DDTC contact information
Part 732: Steps for Using EAR	Modifies the title for Supplement No. 2 to be more applicable
Part 734: Scope of the Export Administration Regulations	Updates Supplemental No. 2 to remove duplicative address information
Part 736: General Prohibitions	Updates paragraph structure and a header in Supplemental No.1
Part 740: License Exception	Corrects spelling of Tajikistan
Part 742: Control Policy -- CCL Based Controls	Corrects grammatical errors in 742.9, 742.10 Corrects footnote order in 742.17
Part 744: Control Policy: End-User and End-Use Base	Renumbers paragraphs of Category 3 so they are sequential
Part 748: Application Classification and Advisory License	Corrects a BIS branch address in 748.2 Corrects address of IC/DV Authority in France in Supplement 4
Part 752: Special Comprehensive License	Corrects grammar in 752.11 Corrects reference errors in Supplement No. 2 and No. 5
Part 754: Short Supply Controls	Corrects typographical error in 754.4 Corrects citation in Supplement No.3
