CBP Reviewing Revision to New In-bond Movement Requirements in ACE

CBP's requirement for the arrival of the full in-bond shipment before a subsequent in-bond movement in ACE may require some revision and the agency is working on an update, said a CBP spokeswoman. The agency recently said it needed to put the new policy in place to better track in-bond movements and adjust to programming edits related to the transition to ACE M1: Rail and Sea.

"Based on the input received from the trade community, we have determined that this requirement may be too onerous," she said by email. "We are working on modifying the edits to allow for better auditing and also maintain the arrival requirements. We are working with the trade on workarounds and CBP field personnel have been provided with ways to assist with this issue. We expect to implement a change within the next few months and will continue to keep the trade community posted via CSMS and CBP.gov/ACE."
