CBP Seattle to Use New Agriculture Hold Types to Better Indicate Cargo Status

CBP will start using additional agriculture hold types to to better indicate the status of cargo on agriculture hold, said CBP Seattle in a Trade Information Notice (TIN) . According to the TIN:

CBP agriculture specialists in Seattle and Tacoma, Washington, will also stop issuing CBP Form 6043 (Delivery Ticket) for agriculture devan exams, said the TIN. CBP will continue to issue Form 6043 for all enforcement holds. Seattle's Advance Targeting Unit is working to improve the process for agriculture holds on ocean shipments imported to Seattle and Tacoma, the TIN said. The Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) will allow agriculture specialists to process documentation more quickly, it said. The TIN was issued Oct. 25 and will be effective 45 days from then.
