CBP Plans RLF and EIP Expansion in the Fall

CBP will be deploying enhancements to the Electronic Invoice Program and Remote Location Filng programs in the fall, the agency said in a CSMS message July 19. The updates will allow Antidumping (AD)/Countervailing (CVD) consumption entry summaries (Entry Type 03) to be filed in ACE. Currently, RLF only includes filing for entry types 01 and 11.

CBP will send out a new CSMS message once CBP decides on a firm date for deployment. This enhancement won't apply to AD/CVD entry summaries (Entry Type 03) filed in the Automated Commercial System (ACS), said CBP. CBP has previously said it is also looking at adding Foreign-Trade Zone entry summaries (06) to RLF, though the CSMS message didn't mention those entries.

CBP also said it is aware that some Automated Broker Interface (ABI) filers mistakenly believe that RLF can't be used with the ACE Entry Summaries. CBP noted its Business Rules and Process document says Electronic Invoice Program (EIP) and RLF are available for ACE filed Entry Summaries, entry types 01 and 11.
