CBP Posts Subjects of Remaining Broker Part 111 Rewrite Webinars
CBP released the focus on the remaining Webinars on the "Role of the Broker." CBP had previously released the dates of the Webinars, but not all of the subjects.
A schedule of these Webinars follows below:
- June 28 -- Modernizing broker permitting requirements
- July 12 -- Continuing education (Part 1)
- July 26 -- Understanding impacts to business processes
- August 9 -- Continuing education (Part 2)
- August 23 -- Developing regulatory alternatives and evaluating economic impacts
- September 6 -- Broker penalties
- September 20 -- Wrap-up and summary of major topics
CBP announced May 25 that it is planning a number of Webinars during the summer of 2012 to solicit comment and input on all facets of the customs broker regulations (19 CFR Part 111). This is part of CBP’s Role of the Broker Initiative, meant to update the relationship between the customs broker and CBP.
