CBP Expects Colombia TPA System Changes on May 16, Tariff Nos Soon, Etc.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said May 15, 2012, system changes associated with the Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement are scheduled to be ready beginning May 16, 2012 at 7:00 a.m.
A CSMS message will be posted when the system changes actually go into production. Once this message is posted, the trade will be able to file Colombia TPA claims electronically in ACS (EI) and in ACE (AE).
The tariff changes associated with the Colombia TPA are scheduled to be posted in the next tariff update within the next day or so.
Effective May 15, 2012 Colombia will no longer be eligible for GSP benefits (SPI A), ATPA benefits (SPI J) and APTDEA benefits (SPI J+).
CSMS message 12-000154 (here) indicated that the following tariff numbers were subject to quota:
- 9822.08.01 -- 9822.08.35
- 9918.02.01 -- 9918.24.20
CBP was advised that the following tariff numbers in above tariff ranges are not subject to quota:
- 9822.08.25
- 9822.08.35
- 9918.24.15
- 9918.24.20
