CBP Posts Another Updated 2011 ACE Accomplishments Fact Sheet

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted another updated version of its 2011 Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Accomplishments Fact Sheet, which now lists a total of 42 accomplishments from January to December 2011. In October - December 2011, CBP implemented ACE e-Manifest: Rail and Sea (M1) training for more than 700 CBP officers at 13 ports; began both the trade and CBP pilots in support of M1; reported successful M1 manifest receipts by a sea and rail carrier, and 13 ports began to successfully accept and process M1 manifests; and completed a draft Cargo Release functional requirements document.

CBP details these fourth quarter 2011 achievements as follows:

December 2011 -- A draft Cargo Release Functional Requirements Document was completed. This document represents further requirements decomposition leveraging the previous work completed on the Cargo Release Concept of Operations (ConOps) and the Operational Requirements Document. Cargo Release, the next planned major release of Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) functionality, will help achieve the agency’s “single window” vision for ACE by allowing the trade community to submit data required by all Federal agencies for the clearance of cargo into one system.
December 2011 -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported successful manifest receipts in ACE e-Manifest: Rail and Sea (M1) from a sea and rail carrier. In addition, thirteen (13) CBP ports successfully began accepting and processing sea and rail manifests in ACE. Feedback from the carriers and CBP has been positive.
November 2011 -- CBP began both the trade and CBP pilots in support of M1.
October 2011 through December 2011 -- Implemented M1 training for more than 700 CBP officers at 14 ports of entry. Training and end-user satisfaction with the new system continue to be areas of strength in the ongoing deployment.
October 2011 through December 2011 -- ACE program representatives participated in various stakeholder outreach events, continuing the program’s dedication to staying connected to a wide range of stakeholders who are critical to ACE’s progress and overall success.
