Aug 18 COAC Meeting on ACE, CHB Revision, Accounts, Air Cargo, Etc.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is announcing that the Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (COAC) will meet on August 18, 2011 in Long Beach, CA, and for the first time is offering a live webcast via the Internet of the meeting, as an alternative to attendance .

Discussion on Next Steps for Accounts and Broker Revision Project

At the August 18 meeting, the COAC will review and discuss next steps and formulate recommendations on the following two issues:

(Prior to the COAC taking action on either of these two issues, members of the public will have an opportunity to provide comments orally or, for comments submitted electronically during the meeting, by reading the comments into the record.)

Gov’t Updates on ACE, Air Cargo Security, Etc. Expected

The COAC will also receive an update on the following CBP initiatives and Subcommittee issues at the meeting:

Those who plan on attending the August 18 COAC meeting via webcast should register online here by close-of-business on August 12, 2011.

Those who plan to attend the August 18 COAC meeting onsite should either register either online here or by e-mail to tradeevents@dhs.gov by close-of-business on August 12, 2011.

Comments due by August 12

CBP is also inviting written public comment on the issues being considered by COAC. Comments must be submitted no later than August 12, 2011.
